It includes an embedded piezoelectric acceler-ometer for accurate measurement; monitors vibration velocity for more consistent results; and, according to the company, provides the type of reliability not found in mechanical switches. Among other things, the product offers a remote reset capability and USB-programmable threshold and time delays to avoid false trips. A user-friendly, drop-in retrofit for most popular mechanical vibration switches, the Series 686B only requires two wires and can replace legacy units without the need for additional cable runs.
