Siemens Debuts Integral Volume Booster Valve Accessory

Siemens introduces an Integral Volume Booster accessory for the Sipart PS2 electro-pneumatic valve positioner, designed for pneumatic actuators that require high flow for fast stroking times. Engineered in the U.S., and assembled in Spring House, PA, the Integral Volume Booster reproduces pneumatic signals in a 1:1 ratio for applications requiring increased flow capacity, while maintaining small step accuracy and reducing piping requirements.
The Integral Volume Booster couples with the Sipart PS2 valve positioner, and directs a high volume air supply to the actuator. This feature eliminates the complex piping and additional fittings required with external volume booster devices.
Siemens Sipart PS2, used to control the final control element of pneumatic linear or part-turn actuators, has a low bleed rate, and when paired with the Internal Volume Booster, provides a low bleed rate that decreases the total cost of ownership, often measured by air consumption via Siemens’ Cost of Air Calculator.
The Integral Volume Booster provides a Cv of 2.0, offering users with the high speed performance and accuracy needed to operate large valves and actuators. The new valve accessory also uses an internal bypass for small step changes, which reduces overshoot and ensures accurate positioning.
