Acquisition of LOTO Specialist ESC Services Expands Rockwell Automation Capabilities

Rockwell Automation, Inc.has acquired the the assets of ESC Services, Inc.(ESC), a global hazardous energy control provider of lockout-tagout (LOTO) services and solutions, based in Franklin, WI. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
According to Matt Fordenwait, Rockwell Automation’s Consulting Business Manager, the acquisition will help his company’s customers increase asset utilization and strengthen enterprise risk management, while adding safety to its growing portfolio of data-driven, cloud-enabled services.
ESC’s unique methodology utilizes Quick Response (QR) codes that can be scanned to obtain asset information and streamline compliance with both external regulations and internal safety policies.
ESC will be integrated into Rockwell Automation’s Control Products & Solutions segment as part of its customer support and maintenance business unit.
