The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and German Machine Tool Builders’ Association (VDW*) have announced the launch of an inaugural International Additive Manufacturing Award (IAMA) competition. Planned as an annual program, the IAMA recognizes innovations in additive manufacturing for industrial applications, including developments in the design of systems or major components; advances in processes or materials; new applications; and data generation or measurement. System producers, users, component suppliers, data modelers and members of academia are encouraged to enter this year’s competition.
The grand prize includes a $20,000 USD cash and a media package valued at $80,000 USD to promote the winning development. The award will be presented during The MFG Meeting (Manufacturing for Growth), scheduled for March 4-7, 2015, in Orlando, FL.
Applications for the IAMA are being accepted now through December 31, 2014. Rules, submission guidelines and additional details can be found on the new IAMA Website: www.additive-award.com.
