OSA4 MicroLab ImageSpectro Scientific, a leading developer and manufacturer of analytical tools and software for industrial fluids analysis, has expanded its ability to serve end users of condition monitoring equipment with the November 28, 2014, acquisition of 100 percent of On-Site Analysis, Inc. (www.on-siteanalysis.com).

On-Site Analysis (OSA), headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, specializes in the development and manufacture of advanced fluids analysis hardware and software technologies, primarily for on-premise coolant, oil and lubrication testing for municipal and commercial fleet vehicles. The company’s analytical equipment operates in 50 countries and its solutions also include the LubeTrak data mining, trending, and storage service headquartered in Sandy, Utah.

The OSA team includes approximately 40 people, with most located at its central manufacturing operation in Marlborough, Massachusetts. OSA’s core products include the OSA4 MicroLab that provides automated lab-quality diagnostic analysis of engine, generator, gear box, hydraulic, power steering, and transmission fluids; the OSA4 TruckCheck with special application-specific software and rules for the trucking industry; and the OSA4 CoolCheck, the only automated technology for coolant and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) testing. The table-top analyzers are ASTM compliant and deliver results in minutes, providing immediate alerts regarding critical system conditions.

Spectro Scientific President and CEO Brian Mitchell said, “This acquisition merges the technical resources and management structures of Spectro Scientific and OSA and will enable our customers to enjoy continually higher levels of analytical speed, convenience and accuracy. The OSA business complements Spectro’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its global leadership position in the industrial fluids analysis markets. Since its inception, OSA has pursued a vision of moving the oil and lubrication testing process from large, centralized laboratories to the actual users of the analytical information. That strategy aligns perfectly with Spectro Scientific’s promise of enabling our customers to always make confident, knowledge-based decisions immediately and without the need of an expert operator. We are excited about adding the On-Site team, technology and products to the Spectro family.”
