Power management company Eaton has introduced its new non-metallic motor control disconnect switch. An extension of Eaton’s metallic motor controls line, the non-metallic motor control disconnect switch offers a practical and flexible control disconnect solution that is designed to provide a secondary means of power shut down for industrial manufacturers and applications in the food and beverage industry.
Constructed with industrial strength NEMA 4x Valox®thermoplastic materials, the non-metallic motor control disconnect switch is built to withstand corrosive and industrial environments and is IP67 rated while offering 30 or 60 ampere switch options. The switch provides the ideal solution for three-phase power switching applications and has options for standard or variable frequency drive (VFD) auxiliary contacts available for each unit.
Having a resilient, succinct design and mounting feet alternatives allow for the switch’s adaptable installation to fit the needs of unique industrial environments. The switch’s feet can be positioned horizontally or vertically, is Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) rail mounted and has options for mounting feet that can provide for a ¼ inch gap or flush mount for various wash down procedures.
The switch also includes a padlock option to comply with Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) lock-out tag-out 1910.147 requirements, which ensures isolation of energy unless the device is in use or being serviced. The switch’s durable enclosure is also protected from dust and water intrusions, securing the device and providing safety for users.
