Swift Filters, Inc. has acquired JB Services International, Inc., a Houston-based manufacturer of high pressure filter housings sold to the oil and gas, chemical processing, automotive manufacturing and other markets. The purchase marks the entry of Swift Filters, a rapidly-growing manufacturer of industrial filter elements, into the filter housing manufacturing business.
“JB Services was well-known to us as a high quality manufacturer of critical high pressure housings,” stated Ned Swift, president of Swift Filters. “For the last six years, we have been the exclusive supplier of all high pressure stainless steel metal filter elements for JB’s filter housings. Both JB and Swift had been looking for opportunities to expand product lines and improve operational efficiencies to meet the growing demands of our customer bases. This merger will help us achieve these goals.”
JB Services International is now part of a newly-created division of Swift Filters, Swift-JB International, LLC. Swift-JB’s T-Type high pressure filter assemblies have been proven in use for over 25 years in the extreme environments of the offshore oil/subsea industry, where they withstand up to 20,000 PSI (1378 bar) operating pressures. The filter housings are constructed of stainless steel or other high performance alloys. Within the housings are Swift stainless steel metal felt filter elements, which can withstand differential pressures up to 4,500 PSID (310 bar) while offering high particle removal with low flow resistance, longer service life and easy cleanability. In addition to oil and gas applications, the filter assemblies are compatible with high temperature fluids, highly viscous fluids, corrosive fluids, foods, drugs, beverages and gases.
