Beyond Maintenance Technology

EP Editorial Staff | October 25, 2017

From its start, Maintenance Technology’s mission has been to deliver must-have business and operational intelligence for plant operations.

The practices, news and case studies provided have always been focused on operational efficiency. Your needs, though, have continued to evolve as new technologies, new customer demands and new realities have taken root. Technological advances have transformed the way we live and what our readers expect from their work.

In 2017, simply maintaining plant assets isn’t enough. It’s with that in mind that we are excited to announce that, starting in October, Maintenance Technology will become Efficient Plant.

Why Efficient Plant? We want our name to better reflect what you strive for in your operations. You want your physical assets, facilities and workforce to perform and function in the best possible manner with the least amount of wasted time, effort, energy and money. We see “efficient” as the sum of reliability, maintainability, safety and profitability.

We will continue in-depth coverage of traditional reliability and maintenance disciplines while we add content on mobile technologies, IIOT/IOT, cybersecurity, environmental risks, smart controls, the empowered workforce, asset optimization, financial management and more.

In addition to the name change, we’ve:

• redesigned and reformatted our print edition
• completely rebuilt our website to provide more and better content, in a variety of formats
• enhanced our newsletters to better keep you informed
• added new columnists and recurring features to help keep you up to date on technology
• introduced a new award program, expanded event partner coverage — and we’re continually looking to do more.

Our new website is live now, and October will be our premiere issue. We welcome your comments, thoughts, feedback and ideas. This is an exciting time for all of us.
