White Paper | Transforming Maintenance for Manufacturers

In the new white paper, “How IoT is Transforming Maintenance for Manufacturers”, Dude Solutions examines the shift from pure preventive maintenance to a hybrid maintenance approach, which includes a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platform and predictive analytics for equipment.
This IIoT-meets-predictive maintenance transition has been happening in many forms. Our recent case application via the IIoT Column dissects Teel Plastics application with OPC UA networking and KEPserverEX gateways that enable factory floor data to move to executive dashboards.
However, the CMMS approach can provide a systematic approach and be included in a plant-wide modernization approach. One example of this is Pepsi Bottling Ventures and its cloud-based CMMS solution at multiple plants, where they’re beginning a journey to equipment optimization.
“With PBV, we started at the line level and drilled down into the machine centers,” Divers says. “We didn’t get into every valve on a filler, but we did get into the major components of the filler, with a detailed view of these components for a maintenance technician or plant manager.” This process is the first step in accumulating equipment data and eventually being able to do failure analysis.
