Amprobe General Electrical and Motor Maintenance Clamps Offer Complete Range of Functions

Melissa Larson | November 6, 2014

Amprobe introduces the AMP-200 Series and AMP-300 Series True-RMS clamps offering a complete range of measuring functions for today’s modern electrical and motor maintenance applications. The AMP-200 and AMP-300 meters offer True-RMS for accurate voltage measurements even in the noisiest electrical environments, low pass filters for current and voltage measurements of variable frequency drives, and the Amp-Tip function for precise low current measurement down to a tenth of an Amp, enabling accurate current measurement of large and small diameter wires.

The AMP-210 600 A AC and AMP-220 600 A AC/DC general-purpose multimeter clamps are ideal for technicians and electricians performing a wide variety of electrical applications. They deliver accurate measurement of current, voltage, and frequency on all electrical systems as well as capacitance measurement for start and run motor capacitors, and resistance and continuity to verify the quality of electrical connections and check motor and transformer coils.

The AMP-200 Series is safety rated CAT III 600 V. The AMP-300 Series is designed specifically for motor maintenance applications — AMP-310 600 A AC for HVAC motors, AMP-320 600 A AC/DC for electrical and motor maintenance, and AMP-330 1000 A AC/DC for high-voltage industrial motor maintenance. They feature 3-phase sequence and motor rotation to properly test the connection of a motor to a 3-phase system, inrush current to verify a motor is receiving the required current to support proper motor start, and HVAC capabilities such as temperature measurement and DC Microamps output for flame sensor testing in gas appliances.

The AMP-310 and AMP-320 are safety rated CAT III 600 V, and the AMP-330 is safety rated CAT IV 600 V/CAT III 1000 V to provide the optimal protection for their usage environments. All five meters feature large backlit LCD displays for easy reading in any environment, non-contact voltage detection, audible continuity, diode testing, data hold and relative zero functions.
