Des-Case Corp., a Tennessee-based global manufacturer of specialty oil-filtration products, was recognized last month as an example of the type of growth possible for American companies that partner with the U.S. Department of Commerce and its Export Assistance Centers. In a visit to the company’s headquarters in Goodlettsville, TN, Jerry Abramson, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, noted that Des-Case has collaborated with the department since 2001. In that time, it grew from a small manufacturer with modest U.S. sales to a global leader in its category with 35% of its sales in international countries.

Abramson visited the company at the invitation of Nashville Mayor Karl Dean to showcase the contributions that Nashville and area companies like Des-Case have made to the U.S. economy through exporting. Since working with the Nashville Export Assistance Center, Des-Case has begun exporting to countries in Central and South America, Australia, the Philippines, as well as Europe, China and Canada.
