Honeywell Pulse Mobility App Speeds Response to Planned/Unplanned Events

Jane Alexander | February 8, 2016

Houston-based Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) has introduced the Honeywell Pulse mobile app. Part of Honeywell’s Industrial Internet of Things network, the technology provides plant managers, supervisors, regardless of their location, with relevant metrics and the tools to quickly resolve planned and unplanned issues directly from mobile devices.

As a corporation, Honeywell is well positioned to leverage the IIoT, a network of networks that uses the Internet to connect people, processes and assets, and to enable a new way to optimize business results and improve safety through increased mobility.

Mobility is part of Honeywell’s initiative to introduce a suite of apps that, along with new cloud functionalities, will help existing solutions deliver better business efficiencies.

According to the company, as the first HPS’ app built specifically for mobile devices, Honeywell Pulse connects to different sources and applications across the manufacturer’s portfolio to create a more intuitive mobile experience for plant workers. As demonstrated in this YouTube video, features and capabilities of the app include:

Timely notifications. Customize alerts according to your preference to receive proactive and timely notifications
Alerts from multiple data sources. Enable alerts from existing Honeywell DynAMo Alarm Management software, and OPC-compliant historians, such as Uniformance Process History Database (PHD)
Connectivity tools to drive collaboration: Allow use of threaded conversations to resolve and weigh in on issues in real time; define alert conditions and subscribe or unsubscribe quickly and easily
Raise situational awareness. Forward, share, and receive critical alarms and events to increase situational awareness.
