“Gross to Close” to Find Leaks

Finding leaks is easy using the “Gross to Close” method.

With headphones on and amplification set to 50 to 60 dB, adjust headphone volume comfortably. Wave the detector back and forth and up and down while listening for the leak. Ultrasound is directional so the source is easy to isolate.

Reduce amplification as you close in on the leak. Once the leak source is isolated, attach a precision indicator to shield competing ultrasound.

Ultrasound Beyond the Single Decibel
